Felicity's Butterfly Birthday Bash

I still can't believe my little girl is 2 years old now! We had a super fun butterfly themed party for her, last Saturday. The best part of the party was the massive bounce house water slide, which I think Kenneth had more fun on than Felicity. Unfortunately, since it was a water party, I decided to wear my swimsuit and cover up... not realizing that it would cause some pictures to be kinda inappropriate. So there's the disclaimer, I wish I could go back in time and just wear a dress, oh well. Other than that the day was great! Here are some pictures from the day.

 Bump buddies!

Woah. Look at that back swing!

These girls were serious about designing their own butterflies!

We gave Felicity a Minnie Mouse bike, I think she almost dropped to the floor with excitement. She didn't want to get off and had everyone push her around the whole house.

Perhaps the biggest smile, however, was reserved for her new baby cousin, Jude. She loves him so much!

Hey there, meet Josephine!

This post is dedicated to my faithful blog readers, i.e. Leigh.
And maybe the handful of other people who have noticed I haven't posted anything since February...

Drum roll please... We have a new child! Meet Josephine Colette. She is a child of God and we are so blessed beyond words to have her in our lives.

Seconds after she was born. Kenneth was so happy to have another girl.

I was pretty happy too! To have a girl and to be finished with labor.

Isn't she just lovely?

She was named after the following people:
My Grandpa Joe
Kenneth's Grandpa Joe
Jesus's adopted father St. Joseph
St. Josephine, who is a fairly new saint, canonized in 2000 by Pope JPII. Read her inspiring story here

Her middle name, Colette, is after St. Colette. Her story is equally as cool.

Valentine's Day Pop-tart Breakfast

It has been so long since I've posted anything because I lost my camera cord that connects to the computer... but that is going to keep me away no longer! I do have a iphone for pete's sake!

Kenneth has been asking me to make homemade pop-tarts for a while now. He loves cinnamon-brown sugar pop-tarts from the store, but I can never find them without the icing on top, which sends his blood sugar levels through the roof. I found a few recipes I wanted to try and thought that this morning was the perfect opportunity!

So... this is what I made Kenneth this morning for breakfast.
He was very excited about his cinnamon-brown sugar pop-tart!
Here are the two links I used to create this fun treat.

Strawberry Heart pop-tart

I didn't have any pie dough on hand, so I made some homemade instead that was too easy! I may never buy pie dough again :) Who knew it is just flour, butter, salt, and cold water? Here is the recipe I used:

Happy St. Valentine's Day!!

Austin

Last week I was able to tag along with Kenneth's recruiting trip to Austin. We happened to be there on September 11 and the campus had 3,000 flags in front on the tower to commemorate the fallen. Felicity wanted to pull up all the flags so we did not get to take many pictures. We then happily strolled around campus and stopped by Bevo for another photo op in the Texas Exes Center. It was so much fun being on campus again.

1st Birthday Watermelon Party

Felicity was only 6 months old when I decided to have a watermelon birthday party for her, which meant lots of time for planning, gathering, and stocking up on anything watermelon I could get my hands on. Thanks to pinterest, I had my sight set high for the perfect red and green party I could give my precious baby girl. The morning of, we were a little worried about rain, but the Lord held off the rain until the afternoon, which couldn't have been more perfect. It was overcast and not too hot! Thank you all who helped make this party amazing, especially my MVPs:  Malia, Jessica P and Jessica M.
I had so much fun making all of the decorations and food. We had a watermelon feast!
Gotta love Hobby Lobby! Probably 85% of my decorations came from their summer clearance section.
Cause eating watermelon on a stick is easier.
These rice krispies were delish! They were koolaide flavored which made it even better.
I am clearly not cut out for decorating cupcakes so to make them a little cuter, I put tiny watermelon umbrellas on them!
My mother-in-law's friend made these adorable cookies for Felicity!
Since it was so hot, the watermelon cake started to droop a little
Felicity had her own slice of watermelon cake!
The dessert table! I loved my cake pop holders. They were light green tins from Hobby Lobby and I painted the tops red and striped the bottoms green and added polka dot black for seeds. Voila, watermelon tins!

Some cousin love!

Nonna walking with Felicity!

If I can make a bib and hat, so can you! Sarah Beth's sewing machine worked wonders, making even the unlikeliest mom a seamstress.

I think she liked it :)
Felicity loves her grandparents and great-grandparents!

All cleaned off.

Last but not least, favors! I loved making these out of baby jars. I wish I had started collecting sooner, we had several babies working on these for me! We cut up twizzlers and sour patch straws inside for more of a sugar rush when you got home.

Felicity, we love you so much and can not believe how the time has escaped us. In a blink of an eye this year has past. I can not wait to see what the Lord has in store for you this next year. Your dad and I pray that you will grow up to be God loving, God fearing, and God serving. Only the Lord knows what your future holds, and we pray that you will continue to blossom into a beautiful child of God. We love you!
